We all know that gas is much cheaper than electricity, but did you realise by how much? Check the back of your bills to see what you pay per KWh; electricity is often THREE TIMES more expensive than gas!

Installing a gas tumble dryer involves a little more than an electric one - you will need a vent just like an electric dryer, but you will also need a gas supply connecting and the dryer commissioning and testing. This adds to the initial cost, but given the cheaper running costs (and lower CO2 emissions caused) then this cost can be recuperated many times over the lifetime of the appliance.


Currently, the only UK supplier of domestic gas tumble dryers is Crosslee plc, who make the White Knight brand. Details are available on their website, and they claim their 'A+' rated dryers have energy running costs up to 70% lower than an electric dryer.
